Mangoes are an excellent source of vitamin C, A, E and B6. They also contain iron, fiber, antioxidants and natural sugar. Vitamin C is the ‘body’s defender’ against sickness and is the ‘body’s doctor’ as it contributes to healing the body from infection, wounds and other tissue damage. Vitamin C also aids in the absorption of iron. Iron promotes the proper functioning of hemoglobin. Hemoglobin carries oxygen. Vitamin A maintains visual/ eye health. Vitamin E defends the body cells from the toxins produced through cell metabolism. Vitamin B6 supports the proper breakdown of food in the stomach and intestines. Fiber promotes healthy/ regular bowel movements. Natural sugars are a source of energy.
Following the procedure below, you can now make your own mango juice at home. Preparing one’s own food aids one in knowing exactly what one puts in one’s food. Let’s get started.
INGREDIENTS: One mango, half a lemon, water and raw honey. I personally prefer 100% natural spring water but you can use any water that is safe for drinking. It is hard finding pure raw honey but do your best to get it as raw as you can.
PROCEDURE: Pill and cut the mango from its seed. Cut into chunks and put the chunks in the ninja cup. Squeeze half of the lemon into the ninja cup and add a table spoon of raw honey. Grind the mixture for about 25 seconds or until very finely ground. Then, strain into the pot. Put the strained juice into the juice cup and enjoy. You may adjust the ingredients or even add your other favorite fruits on the subsequent times.
TOOLS: Ninja blender, knife, lemon squeezer, spoon, strainer, juice glass, and a pan. A very fine strainer is not recommended as it leads to a lot of fiber loss.
This certainly saves one from drinking processed juices that have added preservatives and other chemicals. It is a much healthier option. It takes such a short time to make. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I do and keep it up.
